History
For the last 50 years, Flow Control Technologies, through its associated brands FCT®, SDT®, IVC®, MAPEGAZ CIPEG®, has designed and manufactured valves for severe service applications on large projects.
FCT has served different markets like oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical but also power generation and the navy.
1970’s
SDT brand was born from the large multi-activites Saut du Tarn Group. It was mainly manufacturing ball valves, bolted and fully welded design, for the domestic and international markets.
1980’s
SDT became a private owned company and developed high-end ball valves for upstream Oil & gas activities. SDT turned to be a major and recognized manufacturer with operators such as Total, ELF, Sonatrach, Norsk Hydro.
1990’s
Genoyer Group acquired IVC® (Industrial Valves Company), SDT®, MAPEGAZ CIPEG® and MUNZING companies and merged them into one company Flow Control Technologies (FCT) in 1994.
Great expansion period for the company where FCT reached substantial commercial, technical and innovative achievements.
FCT became a prestigious manufacturer working with the major Oil & gas companies worldwide and the company FCT entered into the top 5 valves suppliers.
2000’s
FCT was acquired by Tyco, among the flow control division which was composed of other well-known valves and actuators manufacturers. During this period, FCT enhance its products range to manufacture valves up to 100 tons.
2010’s
FCT has been thought consecutive mergers and acquisitions by Pentair, Emerson, Altifort and CAG. FCT worked to maintain its sales and technical position.
2023
FCT changed of ownership and reorganized the company to focus primarily on the aftersales market with the delivery of genuine spare parts and the repair of valves at customer’s site or in FCT workshop. Moreover, FCT supplies new valves, 100% rebuilt of previously supplied products, thanks to industrial and manufacturing agreements.

Brands
Merger of the brands SDT®, IVC®, MAPEGAZ CIPEG®. FCT is well recognize on the market on critical applications like HIPPS, Riser valves API 15K valves. FCT® delivered ball valves on large scale projects worldwide.
Ball valves (from 2” to 60”, DB model, DB3, BF and Top entry model) gate valves and actuators. SDT name is still visible, especially on large casted valves delivered before the 90th with the main installed base in Europe, Africa and Middle East.
Technical data of SDT products is well preserved in house for the supply of original spare parts.
Forged valves 3 pieces split body design, HPA & HRA models, with standardized components, designed to facilitate mass production, large scale projects, very well present worldwide.
Well-known products like Type S model (very robust design with integrated seats on the ball to reduce wear and tears in open configuration, valves usually welded on the pipe where the body can be removed on line, but with specific face to face dimension) or BBVL installed mainly on refineries.
FCT must check on a case by case if the historical data of the products are still available.
